Wow, that seriously must be such a PITA! I seriously don’t get what the problem is with just asking though? If I think I know how to pronounce a name, I’ll give it a go and follow up with “did I get that right?”. If I’m really not sure I’ll say something like “I’m sorry, I don’t want to mangle your name, how do you say it please?”

Surely that’s a lot less offensive than saying it in a way that’s nowhere near. People can be so damned weird at times! I’m sorry this is something you have to go through. Thanks for sharing :)
