Thank you for your comment. A few things to bear in mind though.
Firstly progress depends on finding the right therapist. From personal experience they are a very mixed bag. Some are great but others I could honestly do a better job myself. On top of that it had to be a therapist that works for you. There are many fantastic therapists whose style simply doesn’t work for you.
Secondly I can’t afford to pay privately for a therapist. I can be referred on the NHS but the most they offer is short courses if therapy which is usually CBT. I’ve done this more than once and did not find it helped in the slightest. There is also a very long waiting list.
I wish I could afford a psychotherapist as I feel like I could do with long term treatment but right now it isn’t possible.
