I Give In! I’m Writing About Earnings
I’m next level confused!
I’ve tried not to read the stories talking about earnings here on Medium. Normally they take two forms; the first is complaining that they aren’t getting enough views and therefore not enough money. The second is bragging about how they know the secret to making money and making X amount every month. As one writer’s experience is not usually transferable to another, I tend to give them a miss.
I have tried not to write this story, but I admit it, I feel frustrated. I had my first really good month in December, thanks to one of my articles going semi-viral. I did not expect this to continue, and I did expect my earnings to drop. However, I am more than a little confused about the way they’ve dropped.
As you’ll see from the picture, my reads are around the same level as they were at the end of December. The difference? My earnings were between $25 and $40 a day in December. In January, my earnings fell through the floor! I am averaging $7-$10 per day.
